Project Background
The EnLoG-SDEG- Phase IV project implemented in partnership with The Asia Foundation, is designed to strengthen governance systems and public financial management (PFM) practices at provincial and local levels in Sudur Paschim Province of Nepal. The project responds to the growing need for improved transparency, accountability, inclusiveness, and efficiency in public resource management following Nepal’s transition to a federal governance structure. The program focuses on enhancing the capacity of local institutions, including Municipal Accounts Committees, to ensure better fiscal discipline and oversight. It also promotes Local Economic Development (LED) by fostering collaboration between local governments and the private sector to unlock regional economic potential. By integrating planning, budgeting, and economic development strategies, the initiative seeks to create more responsive and accountable governance systems.
