Field Program Officer

Job Context:

“Strengthening Inclusive Education Systems and Services in Nepal” is a project based in Chitwan, Nepal working jointly with Humanity & Inclusion (HI), Sense International (SI) and Leonard Cheshire (LC), and their local partners. This project aims to contribute:

  • Girls and boys with disabilities including those with complex disabilities and other children with learning support needs have equitable access to quality education and demonstrate learning achievements in basic level grades.
  • Accessible and quality inclusive education approaches that are already tested are implemented at household, school and community level in two municipalities of Chitwan district (Kalika and Bharatpur), including mitigation from risks of COVID-19.
  • Evidence on inclusive education is generated, shared and implemented with partners, OPDs, government agencies and other stakeholders implementing major inclusive education programmes at national and local level.

Reports To:               Project Manager

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage trainings, meetings and workshops of head teachers, teachers, SMCs, PTAs and relevant stakeholders and ensure their proper execution.
  • Duly coordinate with project stakeholders for monthly and quarterly meetings and orientations.
  • Work closely with Project Manager and stakeholders in implementing planned activities in effective and efficient manner.
  • Prepare required documentations, materials and data to facilitate project activities.
  • Lead and oversee field level activities and report to the project manager in effective and timely manner.
  • Support in printing electronic awareness materials and meeting handouts.
  • Effective communication and documentation of program results and progress.
  • Assist in report writing and preparing project deliverables.
  • Monitor and report on the use of project resources (financial, administrative and other assets) and ensure compliance with approved allocations, organizational rules, regulations, procedures, donor commitments, and standards of accountability and integrity.
  • Rapport building with project stakeholders like SMC, PTA, head teachers and teachers.
  • Liaison between field representatives and COMMITTED office staffs.
  • Proper coordination for event logistics and administrative support.
  • Guide and support other field assistants in carrying out their duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Science, Social work or relevant field.
  • At least three years of work experience in project management (preferably in I/NGOs)
  • Previous work experience in education, disability and inclusion would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication, report writing and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Nepali and English languages (both written and verbal)
  • Good knowledge of basic computer skills (Ms Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)
  • Valid driving license for 2-wheeler
